Carbon Neutral Textiles
The carbon neutral textiles logo on a product endorses that the relevant item is "scope 3" carbon neutral from "seed to store". That means one hundred percent of the carbon emitted in manufacturing the product has been offset with investment in clean energy.
This includes all steps in the chain. For a cotton bedsheet, it includes the carbon emitted from the tractors in the field where the cotton is grown to the ocean going vessels taking goods to their destinations.
It also endorses that relevant manufacturers are taking active measures not just to offset their carbon but reduce their baseline carbon emissions.
